COWBOY HORSE RIDING IN AMERICA

Welcome to a real working Cattle Ranch experience.
The Ranch was established in 1890 and is uniquely positioned on the edge of the Black Hills in Wyoming just 200 miles from Rapid City International Airport in South Dakota USA. This part of America consists of fabulous canyons, great meadows and panoramic grasslands with a variety of unusual wildlife in great abundance. You almost can’t get enough of this breathtaking landscape.
The ranch welcomes guests who love an untamed existence. Visitors, seldom more than six to eight people at a time, can join the daily activities and experience the real cowboy lifestyle, in the house, in the corrals and on the pastures. You will also get an opportunity to help on the neighbor’s ranch and relax in local towns’ Saloon Bar.

The Horses at Wyoming Ranch
The horses run wild in huge pastures until the season begins at the end of April. They are all a make up of different breeds. Some Paints, Mustangs and Quarter horses. The young stock are a challenge for the experienced horseback rider. Most of them are born and broken on the farm.
The ranch has its own brood mare herd and the resident stallion is a grey Quarter horse. The stock is bred to be tough and strong.

The Cattle Herd
Come April time we round up all the Hereford and Black Angus calves for the annual branding registration in preparation for the big cattle sale.

Wildlife on view daily
You will see wild deer, antelopes, coyotes, raccoons, marmots, beavers, prairie dogs, eagles and turkeys.

Accommodation
There is a lovely guest house decorated with western art consisting of eight bedrooms, each with a private bathroom, open fireplace, dining room and a kitchen. Of course we have the famous Ranch Saloon bar with pool table and billiards. Another option is the cabin for two people with a private bathroom which is very much liked by couples and honeymooners.

LOCATION:
Most guests arrive by plane at the Rapid City’s International Airport, South Dakota. We offer free airport transfers on Wednesdays and Saturdays.  If you prefer to arrive on other days we can arrange transport.
